The CR16 Koyo (JTEKT) is a cam follower with needle rollers. These rolling elements combine high load capacity with a compact design. Cam followers are designed for use with various types of tracks. Thanks to a thick-walled outer ring, they can withstand high radial loads. Instead of an inner ring, they feature a solid, threaded stud, enabling easy mounting. Axial loads due to alignment errors or misalignment can be absorbed in both directions. They are not mounted in a housing bore, but a flat (counter) track provides support.
The CR16 Koyo (JTEKT) is equipped with a cage that prevents the rolling elements from coming into contact with each other. This design allows for a controlled movement of the rolling elements. There is lower friction compared to full complement cam followers, allowing for higher rotational speeds and less heat generation. Common applications of cam followers include conveyor systems, linear guidance systems, and cam mechanisms.
